How does PageMe keep my information secure?
PageMe uses state-of-the-art encryption technology to ensure your data is protected from hackers, scammers, phishing and any unauthorised access. Your messages are only ever decrypted on-device, meaning what is stored on your server looks like alphabet soup 😉.
What makes PageMe different from other messaging apps?
PageMe allows users to own their messages and data. By using PageMe Business, customers can have full control of their data by owning their very own messaging service. PageMe Public users benefit from all the privacy and data ownership of PageMe Business, but within our own fully managed server that it is treated like a walled garden. Unlike most messaging apps, PageMe does not use your phone number for functionality, eliminating the risk of telesales marketers and scammers.
Can PageMe be used for business and family communication?
Yes, PageMe is designed for both business and family use, providing secure and private messaging for all your communication needs. PageMe Public is aimed at family and individual use.
How is data stored and managed on PageMe?
PageMe stores all data (messages, images, videos, documents and files) on your private Matrix homeserver, ensuring that you have full control over your information. Data is hosted locally, providing an additional layer of security and compliance with privacy regulations.
Can I integrate PageMe with WhatsApp?
Yes, PageMe Business Pro supports integration with WhatsApp. We recommend connecting your WhatsApp Business account or a business only WhatsApp account, as this will reduce risk of personal messages from employees getting tied to your server. To link your Whatsapp account to your PageMe account, add the Whatsapp Bridge Bot by starting a chat with @whatsappbot:<customer>.pageme.co.za. Then you can type “help” into that chat and bring up the list of available commands for the bridge bot. Type “login” which will bring up a login QR code to use with your existing Whatsapp account. Scan the QR code and follow up the prompts to link PageMe as a device to your Whatsapp account.
